Matcha is originally came from Japan and made from young green tea leaves. This matcha has caffeine less than actual green tea leaves. This is powdered form of green tea. Matcha latte usually helps me wake up in the morning before I start my daily routine after breakfast.
Matcha Latte has not had much flavor when I am not added any honey or maple syrup into my mug. I usually not added honey when I drink this tea after breakfast. But if I drink it in the afternoon, I might added some sweetness to refresh myself with afternoon heat weather, some time I would added some ice cube into my mug. It depends on my mood at a time, I would say. If you don't like latte, then just drink as the matcha tea without the milk then you can also added some ice cube into it. It can be mix and match of how the flavor you love.
Menu Ingredients Serving Individual Mug
Matcha Latte Ingredients
3/4 cup of Hot Water
1/2 teaspoon of Matcha Powder
1/4 cup Warm Whole Milk (Substitute choices: 2% milk, skimp milk, Homemade Almond Milk, or soy milk)
2 tablespoons of Maple Syrup or Honey (This is optional if you prefer sweetness)
Matcha Latte Preparation
In a small bowl, added matcha powder and mixed with hot water using special hand whisk tool that you can find on amazon. Whisk until the matcha powder is foam. Then added more hot water about 3/4 of the mug.
Added maple syrup if you prefer sweetness and mixed well.
Warm up the milk with medium heat when it starts to boil then turn off stove. Transfer the warm milk to a small bowl and using a hand whisk, whisk until it foam.
Gently pour the milk into a mug with matcha tea and ready to serve.
Serving this matcha latte for brunch or afternoon tea time with some of my homemade desserts. Bon Appetite! I won't recommend to drink this matcha latte for dinner dessert due to it will keep you awake at night.

Energy Without The Anxiety, Crash, Or Jitters
The combination of caffeine with l-theanine in matcha green tea provides a stable and extended boost of energy without the anxious jitters or side effects like you might have previously experienced with coffee and energy drinks. The caffeine will gently pick you up, provide you with an extended energy boost and then will let you softly back down to earth.
Matcha For Focus
The combination of caffeine and l-theanine do wonders for concentration. L-theanine boosts the production of alpha waves in the brain. These alpha waves encourage relaxation and induce a profound feeling of mental clarity and a more alert state of mind - the same mental state can be found in meditation and yoga practice. You know what you’re doing. Matcha is here to make sure everybody else does, too.
Great For Immunity
Matcha green tea Fortifies the immune system and limits the invasion and growth of viruses and bacteria in the body. The special catechin antioxidant called EGCg is effective in fighting and protecting the body against various bacterial and viral infections. EGCg binds to cells in the body and inhibits the growth of many disease-causing microorganisms including influenza A virus, Hepatitis Virus, Herpes Virus, and the bacteria that causes Strep Throat.
Matcha Helps Burn Calories
Try adding matcha to your weight loss program and see what happens. EGCg and caffeine work together to naturally boost your metabolism and increase the number of calories you burn on a daily basis.
Match May Improve Heart Health
Matcha green tea can help protect you from a heart attack or stroke – and matcha green tea powder may be much more effective than steeped green tea when it comes to heart health. Introducing matcha green tea into your regular diet may significantly lower your risk of having a stroke or heart attack.
Matcha For Calmness
L-theanine is a rare amino acid found in high concentrations in matcha that crosses the blood-brain barrier and promotes a feeling of relaxation while reducing mental and physical stress. L-theanine works with caffeine to provide a stable extended boost of energy with none of the usual jittery side effects of caffeine and stimulants. It’s a mouthful, but l-theanine has a lot to do with the relaxed state of mind you experience when you’re on matcha.
Antioxidant
Matcha Green Tea has the highest antioxidant rating of all major superfoods, and there’s even a test to prove it. According to The ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity) test, which measures the antioxidant levels in foods, Matcha Green Tea measures 1384 units per gram. That’s 13x the antioxidants of pomegranates, 15x the antioxidants of blueberries, and 125x that of spinach. Say hello to feeling invincible!
